Buyer guide

How much does AI training for a team cost?

The honest answer first: Day Seven prices team training after scoping. We look at how many people are being trained, which AI tools they use, the workflows the training has to fit, and how you want it delivered — then we put a written price against that. We do not publish a rate card, because the same headcount can mean very different amounts of work.

This page explains what actually moves the number, so you can compare proposals properly and brief any provider — us or anyone else — well enough to get a real price rather than a placeholder. Use the checklist below to compare the scope and inclusions of each proposal.

    What drives the cost

Six things change the price of a team programme more than anything else. Each row includes the question worth asking before you accept a figure.

Cost driverWhy it changes the priceQuestion to ask
How many people, and how many sessionsWorkshops run at around 16 people so everyone gets hands-on time. A team of 40 is delivered as multiple cohorts, and the number and length of sessions are agreed during scoping. How many cohorts does my headcount need, and is each one priced separately?
Duration and formatA full day, two half-days or a short focused briefing are different amounts of delivery time — and splitting a day in two adds a second start-up and wrap-up.What changes between a full day and two half-days, apart from the calendar?
Preparation and tailoringScoping calls, mapping your repeated tasks, and building exercises on your own documents and workflows all happen before anyone is trained. How much preparation is included, and what would count as extra tailoring?
Role and tool specialisationA session for engineers on Claude, Copilot and coding agents is built differently to a leadership briefing or a general workforce session on everyday tasks. Is the content built for our roles and our tool, or adapted from a standard deck?
Online, on-site and travelLive online, your offices or a Leeds venue are different delivery models. On-site work outside the trainer's base can carry travel and, for early starts, accommodation. Is travel included in the figure, or added afterwards?
Follow-up and embeddingA prompt library, an adoption plan and any check-in sessions after delivery are work beyond the training day itself. What follow-up is in the price, and what is a separate line?

Questions to ask before you sign anything

These are not things we promise are always included — in any proposal, ours included, some will be in the price and some will not. The point is to find out which, in writing, before you compare two quotes that look similar.

    • What exactly is included in the figure — scoping, tailoring, delivery, materials, follow-up?
    • Is the price quoted per cohort, per person or per programme?
    • Is VAT included or added, and when is it invoiced?
    • Do we need to provide AI tool licences for participants, and are trial accounts acceptable?
    • Who supplies the practice data, and what is allowed to be used in exercises?
    • What happens if we add people, split into more cohorts, or move the date?
    • How will we evaluate whether the training worked, and is that evaluation part of the engagement?
    • Are travel and any venue costs inside or outside the quote?

    The buyer brief

A provider can only price what it can see. Fill this in once and send it to everyone you are considering — you will get comparable proposals instead of three quotes for three different things. No email address required.

Before you look at price, work out what you are buying

Two proposals at the same figure can be completely different products. One might be a standard slide deck delivered to a room; the other might be a scoping call, exercises built on your own documents, and a prompt library your team keeps. Price only means something once you know which one you are reading.

    Frequently asked

We work with businesses training 10 or more people. Below that, a team programme is usually not the right shape, and we will say so rather than take the booking.

Workshops run at around 16 people so everyone gets hands-on time on their own work. Larger teams are delivered as multiple sessions, so headcount is not a limit — it changes the number of cohorts.

Not necessarily. Which tools your people can use, and whether existing licences cover everyone attending, is confirmed during scoping before anything is booked.

Because the same headcount can mean very different work depending on roles, tools, tailoring and delivery. We price after a scoping conversation, and quoting a range before that would be guesswork.

Send us the buyer brief on this page, or book a scoping call. You get a written proposal with the format, scope, delivery options and price for your situation.

Ask any provider to state this explicitly on the proposal, including ours. Check the quoted total and any VAT before comparing proposals.
