AI training for financial services teams

Day Seven trains teams in UK insurers, banks, building societies, brokers, wealth managers and advice firms to use Microsoft 365 Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini on their own work, inside the guardrails a regulated firm needs. Sessions run on-site or live online for teams of 10 or more. The founder spent years in learning roles at Aviva and KPMG, so the operating environment isn't new to us.

What makes AI training different in financial services?

Three things. The data rules are stricter, so what can and can't go into a prompt has to be settled before anyone opens a tool. Outputs that reach a customer or a regulator need a documented human check, which changes how a workflow is designed. And the FCA's Consumer Duty, plus existing rules on record-keeping and fair treatment, mean "the AI wrote it" is never an answer. We build all three into the session rather than adding a compliance slide at the end.

Which teams do you train in financial services?

Financial services teams and tasks worked on during training
TeamTypical tasks worked on in the session
Underwriting and claimsSummarising case files, drafting decision rationales for review, extracting facts from documents
Broker and distribution teamsProduct Q&A preparation, meeting write-ups, tailored follow-up drafts
Compliance and riskFirst-pass policy summaries, regulatory change briefings, control testing notes
Finance and actuarial supportCommentary on month-end packs, asking questions of spreadsheets, board paper drafting
Customer operationsComplaint thread summaries, draft responses in the house tone for human sign-off
Leadership teamsDirection, risk appetite, permitted tools, how adoption will be measured

Which tools do financial services firms use?

Most run Microsoft 365 Copilot enterprise-wide because the data stays in the tenant and inherits sensitivity labels. Some add Claude or ChatGPT Enterprise for specific teams, with a data agreement in place. We train whichever you have, and we're clear about which tasks belong where. See Copilot training and Claude training.

What guardrails are built into the training?

A one-page guardrails note agreed with your compliance or information security lead before the day: what never goes into a prompt (customer identifiers, unredacted case files, anything covered by a specific data agreement), where a person signs off before anything reaches a customer, and how prompts and outputs are retained if your record-keeping rules require it. Attendees practise with redacted or synthetic examples where needed. If you're building a formal AI governance framework, see AI governance for UK companies and ISO/IEC 42001.

    Formats

Half-day and full-day workshops per team; a leadership session first; multi-week programmes for larger rollouts; engineering tracks for in-house development teams; a seven-day sprint when there's a specific process to automate. Details on the UK training overview.

    Frequently asked questions

Can regulated firms use ChatGPT or Claude safely?

Yes, with an enterprise agreement that covers data handling and retention, clear rules on what goes in, and human sign-off on anything customer-facing. Many firms start with Copilot inside their Microsoft tenant and add other tools for particular teams later.

Do you cover Consumer Duty and FCA expectations?

We cover them as they affect how a task is done: what must be checked, recorded and signed off. We are trainers, not your compliance function; your compliance lead reviews the guardrails note before the session.

Can you train insurance brokers and distribution teams?

Yes. Broker teams typically work on product questions, meeting write-ups and follow-up drafts. We also build always-on assistants for broker support as a consulting engagement; ask us.

Do you have experience in financial services?

The founder held senior learning roles at Aviva and KPMG, and the team has worked inside insurers and banks. We don't publish client names in this sector without permission.

Can sessions use our own documents?

Yes, redacted or synthetic where the data rules require it. We agree the examples with you at scoping.

    On-site or online?

Either. On-site anywhere in the UK for teams of 10 or more; live online for teams across several offices.

    How much does it cost?

Price depends on group size and format. Tell us what your team needs and we'll come back within one working day.

    What happens after the training?

You keep the prompt library, the guardrails note and the templates. We offer follow-up sessions, champions support and a way to check at 30 and 90 days whether the tasks are being done with the tool. See measuring the return on AI training.
